1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of Alarum, an event and webhook aggregation hub published by BIG et Nouf and currently available at https://alarum.me/. The service lets you receive, read, and forward notifications from your CI/CD pipelines, cron jobs, monitoring, and custom scripts. It is intended for developers and technical teams.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or by using the service, you fully and unconditionally accept these terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the service.

3. User account

Account creation goes through a third-party OAuth provider (GitHub, Codeberg). You are responsible for the security of the third-party account you use to sign in, and for the confidentiality of the ingestion tokens generated from the service.

4. Data and content

You retain ownership of the content you send to the service (events, payloads). The service stores raw events for the detail-history horizon of your plan (3 days on Discover, 30 days on Freelance, 90 days on Agency), then deletes them automatically. Aggregated rollups (counts and top tags/sources used to populate dashboard charts) are kept longer (1, 3 or 6 months depending on plan) and then purged in turn.

We process your data only to operate the service and never sell it. Operating the service relies on a small number of technical sub-processors: our hosting provider (OVH, France) for storage, your OAuth provider (GitHub or Codeberg) for sign-in, and your browser's push service (e.g. Mozilla, Apple, or Google) when you enable web-push notifications. You are responsible for not sending personal or sensitive data of third parties through your events without a proper legal basis.

5. Service availability

The service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of availability or continuity. The publisher reserves the right to suspend the service temporarily for maintenance or any other reason. To keep the service stable for everyone, ingestion is capped per account according to your plan: a hard monthly event quota and a per-minute burst guard. Requests beyond either are rejected; there is no usage-based billing.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for any indirect damage, loss of data, or loss of profit arising from the use or unavailability of the service. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, nor to send spam, malware, or content that infringes the rights of others, and not to attempt to disrupt or circumvent the service's security or rate limits. The publisher may suspend or close any account that breaches these terms.

7. Changes to these terms

The publisher may amend these terms at any time. Material changes are announced through the in-app changelog, and the "last updated" date above is revised accordingly. Continuing to use the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, any dispute shall be brought before the competent courts within the jurisdiction of the publisher's registered office (Arras, France).
